Services by Region: Central Coast

Parent Education: When you enroll with Holdsambeck &
Associates, a behavior analyst is assigned to you to provide weekly
consultation at home or in the community. Using a parent education
model, we enable and support families to learn how to deal with
difficult or problem behaviors using positive behavioral support
methods that fit within your family’s structure and values. Dealing
with a problem behavior is more than just reducing problems. We
teach people and families the skills and behaviors they need to be
successful. Services are ended when behavioral goals are achieved.

  • Parent Education Groups: Groups addressing behavioral
needs can be formed at anytime. Group options may address
behavioral issues that maybe best suited for group
interaction such as appropriate adaptive social behavior and
functional independence with safety awareness in the
community. All services are provided with an analyst present
per person enrolled and require a parent or caregiver to
actively participate so that they learn how to facilitate such
interactions and abilities. Group size may vary from 2 to 6
participants.Services are ended when behavioral goals are
    achieved. PT0467, sub code 48

  • Intensive Applied Behavior Analysis: A behavior
analyst will conduct a functional behavior assessment. The
assessment process may involve interviews with important
people in the person’s life, direct observations in multiple
environments, and record reviews. A formal written
assessment and intervention plan will be reviewed with you
and proposed for implementation to address specific
behavioral goals. These interventions are appropriate for
intense behavioral needs, the need for assistance in multiple
settings, or when reducing or eliminating challenging
behaviors requires skill building with several functional
replacement behaviors. Intensive ABA services allow for
direct 1:1 intensive intervention between an analyst and the
person needing assistance with a parent or caregiver. Parents
or Caregivers learn how to address challenging behaviors,
how to assess appropriate replacement behaviors, and how to
teach or provide motivation for those replacement behaviors.
Services are provided 2 to 5 days a week depending on
individual needs. This service is appropriate for early
intervention to adulthood. Services end when behavioral
goals are achieved. H15460, sub code 620 INT

  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Specialty Services:
Intensive ASD services focus on the core behavioral deficits
and behavioral excesses of Autism. Parents participate in
direct 1:1 intensive intervention between an analyst and child.
A behavior analyst conducts an assessment addressing areas
of need and challenging behaviors. An assessment and
intervention plan will be proposed for implementation to
address specific behavioral goals targeting the core deficits
and behavioral excesses found during the assessment process.
Decisions on programming consider the need, age, hours of
other intervention, and the family’s ability to participate. The
intent of this program is early intervention with the goal of
preparing children for the academic environment and
demands of a quality public education. Services are ended
when behavioral goals are achieved. Transition planning
to public education is an important part of this service.
